be going to (plans)B1
主语 + am/is/are going to + 动词原形

I am going to take the bus tomorrow because my car is broken.
Are you going to buy a return ticket?

✗ I going to take the bus.✓ I am going to take the bus.
↑ 提分:再高一档可用 plan to / intend to 代替 be going to,使表达更多样。
present continuous for future arrangementsB1
主语 + am/is/are + 动词-ing + (将来的时间状语)

I am meeting my friend at the station at 3 o'clock.
We are leaving on the 6:15 train tomorrow morning.

✗ I am meet my friend tomorrow.✓ I am meeting my friend tomorrow.

You took a bus from the airport to the city centre, but your luggage was damaged during the trip. Write a letter to the bus company. In your letter: - describe what happened - explain the damage - say what you would like the company to do.
Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to complain about a problem with your bus service. Yesterday, I took the 3 p.m. bus from the airport to the city centre. The journey was bumpy because the roads were not good. I put my suitcase in the luggage area near the door. But when I reached the city centre, I saw that my suitcase was badly damaged. The side of the suitcase has a large crack, and the handle is broken. Also, one wheel is missing. I cannot use it for my trip home. I had to buy a new one, and it cost me £50. I have the receipt from the shop. I would like you to pay this money back to me. Please send a cheque for £50 to my address above. I also think you should fix the luggage area on your buses, so other passengers do not have the same problem. I look forward to your reply. You can call me on 555-1234 if you need more information. Yours faithfully, Alex Lee

任务“I am writing to complain about a problem with your bus service.”
衔接“The journey was bumpy because the roads were not good.”
语法“I would like you to pay this money back to me.”
(I was wondering if you could...)

Speaking

Part 1

Q: Do you often use public transport?
Yes, I do. I use the bus almost every day to go to work. It's cheap and convenient.
Q: What kind of transport do you use most?
I mostly use the bus because it stops near my home. Sometimes I take the train if I need to go far.
Q: Do you prefer buses or trains?
I prefer buses because they are cheaper and there are more stops. But trains are faster.

Part 2 ·

Describe a journey you took by public transport. You should say: - when it was - where you went - what kind of transport you used - and explain how you felt during the journey.
I want to talk about a bus trip I took last summer. I went from my city to a small town by the sea. I used a coach because it was direct. The journey took about two hours. I left at 9 in the morning and arrived before lunch. I felt quite relaxed because the seat was comfortable and I had a book. The only problem was that there was a lot of traffic so we arrived 30 minutes late. But I still enjoyed the trip. I could see the countryside and it was sunny. I think travelling by coach is a good way to relax.

Part 3

Q: Is public transport good in your city?
I think it is not bad. The buses come quite often, but in rush hour they are very crowded. The train is better because it is faster, but it costs more.
Q: Should the government make public transport free?
That is a difficult question. It could be good because more people would use it, and that would help the environment. But making it free would cost a lot of money, so I am not sure.
💡 用两面分析,could be good 和 but 表达不确定,符合 Part 3 要求。

It is cheap and convenient.
I mostly use the bus because...
I felt quite relaxed because...

写信时多用would like to礼貌请求,口语里多用because, and, but把回答拉长。
