You are on a holiday and you found a lovely café in a small town. Write a letter to a friend who is planning to visit the same town. In your letter: - tell your friend where the café is - explain why you liked it - suggest how to find it.
Dear Anna, How are you? I hope you are well. I am writing to tell you about a great café I found here. It is called The Green Cup and it is in the old town. It is on a quiet street near the river. The café is opposite a small bookshop. The street is not big, but it is very pretty. I liked the café because it has a lovely garden. You can sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. The chocolate cake is really delicious. You must try it! To find the café, go straight from the train station. Then turn left at the big church. After that, walk along the river for about five minutes. You will see the bookshop on your right. The café is just opposite. It is very easy to find. I think you will like it too. Write back and tell me when you are coming. Best wishes, Jenny

口语 Speaking

Part 1

Q: Do you often ask for directions when you are in a new place?
Yes, I do. I am not very good at reading maps, so I ask people. Usually, people are friendly and help me.
Q: When was the last time you used a map?
I used a map on my phone last weekend. I wanted to find a new restaurant. It was very easy to follow.

Part 2 ·

Describe a time when you gave directions to someone. You should say: - who you helped - where they wanted to go - how you explained the way - and explain how you felt about it.
I remember a time last month. I helped a tourist. She wanted to go to the museum. I explained the way like this: I said, 'Go straight on. Then take the first left. The museum is between the park and the library.' I used my hands to show the directions. I felt good because I could help someone. She said thank you with a big smile. It was a nice moment.

Part 3

Q: Do you think it is easy to get lost in your town or city?
Not really. My town is small, so the roads are simple. But sometimes the signs are not clear, and visitors can get lost.
Q: Why do some people prefer to use maps on their phones rather than paper maps?
Because phone maps are easier. They can show you the quickest way. Also, you do not have to carry a big paper map. But some old people still like paper maps.

Go straight on, then take the first left.
It's not far. You can't miss it.

指路类题目务必多用go straight, turn left/right, opposite等。

从4.5提升到5.5,指路方面的提分点是:①准确使用祈使句(不要加主语you);②丰富方位表达(opposite, between, on the corner, next to等);③口语和写作中适当加入顺序词(first, then, after that)使逻辑更清晰。
