Future continuous (will be + -ing) and future perfect (will have + past participle)B2
will be + 现在分词 / will have + 过去分词
(I」ll be shopping online later),将来完成强调完成(By 2030, half of all retail sales will have moved online)。
By 2028, most consumers will have switched to online grocery shopping.
This time next week, I will be relaxing at home while my purchases are delivered.
✗ By the end of the year, the company will be launch a new app. → ✓ By the end of the year, the company will have launched a new app.
✗ At 8 pm tonight, I will have shop online. → ✓ At 8 pm tonight, I will be shopping online.
Conditionals for predictions (first conditional and beyond)B2
If + 现在时, will + 动词原形;也可用unless, as long as等
If online prices stay low, physical stores will lose more customers.
If delivery times continue to fall, more people will shop online.
Unless physical shops improve their service, they will struggle to survive.
✗ If the trend will continue, many shops close. → ✓ If the trend continues, many shops will close.
↑ 提分:可搭配be likely to, be set to等表达可能性,避免所有预测都用will。

Is Online Shopping Killing the High Street?
The rapid growth of e-commerce has transformed the way we shop. In just a decade, online sales have gone from a small fraction of total retail to nearly 30% in many countries. This shift has led many to ask: are we witnessing the slow death of traditional high street shops?
There is no doubt that online shopping offers convenience that physical stores cannot match. With a few clicks, consumers can compare prices, read reviews, and have products delivered to their door overnight. As a result, many high street shops have seen a sharp drop in foot traffic, and some well-known brands have been forced to close branches or go out of business entirely.
However, it would be a mistake to assume that in-person shopping will disappear. Firstly, many people still value the experience of seeing and trying products before buying. Clothing, for example, is often returned because it does not fit, which can be frustrating and costly for both consumers and retailers. Secondly, shopping is as much a social activity as a practical one, and many town centres depend on shops for their vitality.
Looking ahead, it is likely that the high street will continue to change rather than vanish. By 2030, many empty stores will have been converted into cafés, gyms, or shared workspaces. What is clear is that the relationship between online and offline retail is not a simple story of one replacing the other.

App Representative
Hi everyone, thanks for coming. I'm here to tell you about our updated shopping app, which we believe will change the way you buy everyday items.
App Representative
The biggest change is the new same-day delivery option. If you place an order by 1 pm, it will be at your door by 6 pm that same day.
App Representative
We've also added a feature called 'Price Watch'. This tool will be tracking prices over time, so you'll know exactly when to buy. If the price drops after you purchase, we'll automatically refund the difference.
App Representative
Now, a quick mention of our returns policy. You now have 60 days to return any item, no questions asked. Just use the app to print a return label, and a courier will pick it up from your home for free.

Online shopping is becoming more popular. Some people think this will lead to the closing of all physical shops. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
The spectacular rise of online shopping has led some to predict that physical shops will soon become a thing of the past. While I agree that e-commerce is reshaping retail, I disagree that it will entirely replace traditional stores.
On the one hand, it is easy to see why some people believe that all shops will close. Online retailers often have lower costs, which allows them to offer significant discounts and a wider selection. If current trends continue, many high street stores will go out of business, especially those that fail to adapt. By 2030, a large proportion of sales for books, electronics and clothing will have moved online, leaving little room for physical competitors.
On the other hand, there are strong reasons why physical shops will survive. Firstly, the in-store experience cannot be replicated online. Many customers still want to try on clothes, test gadgets, or simply enjoy an afternoon browsing in shops. Secondly, not all products are easy to buy online. Groceries, for example, are often chosen based on freshness, and many people prefer to pick their own fruit and vegetables. Furthermore, by 2040, we will probably be using physical stores as showrooms and collection points, combining the best of both worlds.
In my view, rather than destroying the high street, online shopping is forcing it to evolve. I am convinced that the future will be a mixture of both, with shops offering experiences that cannot be delivered by a courier.
In conclusion, although e-commerce will take a larger share of retail, the idea that all physical shops will disappear is an exaggeration. The two can coexist and even complement each other.

口语 Speaking
Part 1
Q: How often do you buy things online?
Pretty often, actually. I'd say I order something online at least once a week, whether it's clothes, electronics, or just groceries. It's so convenient, and I can do it anytime, even late at night.
Q: Do you prefer online shopping or in-store shopping? Why?
It depends. For everyday necessities, I definitely prefer online shopping because it saves time. But for things like shoes or a new laptop, I like to go to a physical shop so I can try them or ask questions in person.

Part 2 ·
Describe a recent online purchase you made. You should say: what you bought; when you bought it; why you chose to buy it online; and explain how you felt about the purchase.
I'd like to talk about a pair of wireless headphones I bought last month. I had been thinking about getting a new pair for a while, and I finally decided to go for it when I saw a special discount on a website. I chose to buy them online mainly because I could compare lots of models and read through dozens of reviews, which gave me confidence in my choice. Also, the price was much better than in any local electronics store. The delivery was super fast—they arrived in just two days. Overall, I was really pleased with the purchase. The headphones work perfectly, and I got great value for money. Looking back, I'll probably start checking online before I buy most things in the future.
Q: What impact has online shopping had on local communities?
I think there are two sides to this. On the one hand, it's made life more convenient—people can get what they need without travelling far. On the other hand, it's definitely hurt local shops, and that can lead to fewer jobs and less lively town centres. So the impact is quite mixed.
On the one hand... On the other hand...
Q: Do you think people will stop going to physical shops in the future?
I doubt it, to be honest. Maybe for standard items, but many people still enjoy the experience of walking around shops, especially on weekends. Also, some things like fresh food or luxury items are things people want to see before buying. I'd say physical shops will evolve rather than disappear—maybe they'll become more like showrooms or event spaces.
