Common mistake: Mixing present and past tensesB1

Yesterday I went to the market and I bought some fruit.
Every day I go to the market and I buy some fruit.

✗ I went to the shop and I buy some milk.✓ I went to the shop and I bought some milk.
Common mistake: Missing or wrong articles (a/an/the)A2
帮助回忆何时使用a/an/the

I have a dog. The dog is very friendly.
She is a teacher.

✗ I have dog.✓ I have a dog.

You have lost a personal item at the community centre. Write a letter to the centre manager. In your letter: - explain when and where you think you lost it - describe the item - ask what you should do to get it back.
Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to ask about a lost item. I think I left my wallet at your centre on Monday afternoon. I was there for a meeting in the main hall. After the meeting, I waited for the bus. When I got home, I could not find my wallet. I think I left it on the seat in the hall. My wallet is brown and made of leather. It has a library card with my name, Jake Brown, and a small photo of my dog. There is also some money inside. I cannot remember the amount. The wallet is not expensive, but the library card is important to me. I need the wallet because I use the library card for my studies. Please check and let me know. Do you have it? I can come to the centre to collect it. I work until 4 p.m., so I can come after that. Do I need to bring any identification? Thank you for your help. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, Jake Brown

任务“I am writing to ask about a lost item.”
衔接“When I got home, I could not find my wallet.”
词汇“It has a library card with my name, Jake Brown, and a small photo of my dog.”
语法“I work until 4 p.m., so I can come after that.”
任务“Do I need to bring any identification?”

Speaking

Part 1

Q: Do you often lose things?
No, I don't often lose things. I try to keep my things in the same place. But sometimes I forget my keys.
Q: What do you do when you lose something?
I look carefully and ask others. I check my bag and my pockets. I also think about the last place I saw it.

Part 2 ·

Describe something you once lost. You should say: what it was; when and where you lost it; how you felt about it; and explain whether you found it again.
I want to talk about a wallet I lost last year. It was a black leather wallet. I lost it on a bus. I was coming home from work. I think I left it on the seat. When I got off the bus, I noticed it was not in my pocket. I felt very sad because it had my library card and some money. I called the bus company, but they did not find it. So I never got it back. After that, I am more careful now.

Part 3

Q: Why do people often lose things?
I think people lose things because they are in a hurry. They have many things to think about and forget to check their bags. Sometimes they are tired and do not pay attention.
Q: Do you think technology can help us not lose things?
Yes, I think so. For example, we can use phones to track keys. But not everyone has this technology. Some people just try to remember their things.

I felt very sad.
After that, ...
I think so.

和「It takes me ...」
